Hemanth Nimbalkar Takes Charge as IGP Western Range

Mangaluru: Hemanth Nimbalkar has taken charge as the IGP of Western Range here on August 16.

Hemanth Nimbalkar is an officer of the 1998 batch and has served as the Additional Commissioner of Police Bengaluru East.

After taking charge from the out going IGP Harishekaran, addressing the mediapersons Hemanth said, “I was in Dakshina Kannada on probationary in 2002 and SP of Chikkamagaluru in 2009.”

When asked about the transfer at this critical time in the district. Hemanth said, “If anyone violates the law we will take action against them. Those who are involved in illegal activities will not be spared. We will punish them according to the law of the land. I will find a way of preventive policing and reactive enforcement. I have collected all the necessary information and I will work accordingly.”

Transfers are common in the government department. The duty of the police department is to provide safety for the general public. Those who go against the law and are involved in creating violence in the society will be firmly dealt with. The public wants safety and it is our duty to provide them with a safe and secure environment. My intention is to serve the people of Dakshina Kannada district well, curb violence and act against those taking the law into their hands.”

When asked about the murder of Sharath Madival case, Hemanth said, “It is a very sensitive issue and we have already arrested two persons. I will discuss this issue with SP’s of four districts and work accordingly.
