Hi-tech Prostitution Racket Busted in Apartment at Nanthur, 2 Arrested, 3 Women Rescued
Mangaluru: The Economic and Narcotic Crime Police raided an apartment in Nanthur, arrested two pimps and rescued 3 women on April 2.
The arrested have been identified as Ivan Cyril Pinto alias Pavan (35) from Modankaup Bantwal and Sathish Acharya (31) from Yeyyadi.
According to the police on April 2, the Economic and Narcotics Crime Police Inspector along with his team raided the Star Legacy Apartment at Nanthur junction. The accused Ivan and Sathish were running the prostitution racket using the website LOCANTO. Through the website, they were uploading photos of women and inviting customers.
On getting information the ENC Police raided the apartment and arrested the accused and rescued three women. They seized Rs 23,500 cash and mobile phones from their possession.
The operation was carried out under the able leadership of ENC police inspector Ramakrishna KK along with his team.
