High Command will Finalise Winning Candidate for LS Polls – Minister Khader
Mangaluru: “I am not a candidate for the Lok Sabha polls from Dakshina Kannada constituency. The leaders at the AICC and KPCC level have discussed the selection of the candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The high command will finalize the candidate. In the Congress party, everyone has the right to demand the ticket and this is the internal beauty of democracy within the party”, said the District Minister In-charge U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on February 28.
Addressing the mediapersons Khader said, “Everyone in the party has the right to express their views. Sorake has done a lot of good work, he has helped everyone in their needs without considering caste, creed or religion. He has brought a lot of people to the Congress party, no one should harass him for silly reasons. We should remember the good work and the help he has done to the people. He has also helped people from the minority community to grow as leaders.”
When asked who is the candidate, Khader said, “The Right Hand Palm is our symbol and the people will vote for the palm. The candidate will be finalized by the high command and an official announcement will be made soon.”
When asked about women getting the ticket for LS Polls, Khader said, “Preference will be given to the Winning candidate.”
Khader also said, “We have extended three more months for making the property card. The system is being upgraded since there are some errors at present. Technical problems in the system have led to the delay in issuing the property cards. We will also set up additional counters and speed up the process.”
