Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike to hold Mudradi Chalo Protest against Cattle Trafficking on Nov 25

Udupi: The Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike Mudradi Hebri and other like-minded organizations will hold a massive protest “Mudradi Chalo” on November 25 at 3:30 pm against cattle trafficking and slaughter at Mudradi.

Speaking at a press meet held at the press club, Rathnakar Ameen vice president of APMC Karkala Taluk on November 22 said, from the past many years a number of cattle thefts were reported in Hebri and surrounding areas. Thieves have stolen cattle from the cattle sheds, loaded them into the vehicles and escaped after flashing swords at those who came in the way. Our activists have waited and noticed these thefts and informed the police, but no action has been taken against the culprits.

Cattle thieves have started entering compounds of cow owners with swords and lethal weapons and without any mercy taking away the cows. These thieves are a threat to the lives of women and elderly people. Many times we have complained to the police but they have failed to arrest the culprits. Our fight is not against the Police, administration or any political party leaders. We demand the government to give a free hand to the police to work against the cattle thieves.

Activists of the VHP, Bajrang Dal and other associations, along with farmers, cattle lovers and various religious leaders are participating in the protest. More than 5000 people are expected to join, he said.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike state convener C M Prasanna Shetty, Mahesh Bailuru of Bajarang dal, Prakash Kukkehalli, Dinesh Shetty Hebri and others were present.
