HM Amit Shah should Answer Four Questions during his Visit to Karnataka – Ivan D’Souza

Mangaluru: “National president of BJP and Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Mangaluru has been cancelled. In my press meet, I had said that the district administration should not give permission to Amit Shah to come to Mangaluru. If he comes I will start a “Go Back Amit Shah” agitation. My intention was to stop any untoward incidents taking place because of his visit but his visit to Mangaluru has been cancelled. Amit Shah will come to Karnataka this week to attend a pro CAA rally. I have four questions which Amit Shah should answer”, said MLC Ivan D’Souza during a press meet held at his office here on January 16.

Addressing the mediapersons Ivan D’Souza said, “On January 15, a mass protest against CAA and NRC was held in Adyar which is a huge success. Nearly 1.5 lakh people gathered for the protest which is an eye-opener for the government to withdraw the unconstitutional act. I congratulate the Muslim Central committee along with 28 other organizations. I also congratulate the police for providing safety and security during the protest. At the same time, I would like to ask four questions to our Home minister Amit Shah during his visit to Karnataka. They are: During the elections, the then CM Yediyurappa was called to his house and assured of solving the Mahadayi Issue by holding a meeting with the Goa government. What happened to the Mahadayi issue?”

Ivan further said, “My second question is, last time during his visit to Karnataka, Amit Shah said that the Central government has sanctioned Rs 3 lakh crore grant to Karnataka and the Siddaramaiah government did not distribute it to the people of the state. Now since the BJP government is in power in Karnataka, let Amit Shah release the white paper so that we will know where the money has gone? Let this issue be discussed in the next session. My third question is: The Home Minister said that the NRC and CAA will be implemented and the PM is saying he will not implement it. The contradicting statements by the PM and HM have confused the people and if the statement of PM is wrong, let the PM apologize to the people”.

Ivan also said, “My fourth question is: The Prime minister visited the flood-affected areas and announced compensation to get publicity. An ariel survey was also done and the total estimated loss was Rs 35000 crores but the central government has sanctioned only Rs 1800 crores. Why the step-motherly treatment to the people of Karnataka?”
