HM Dr Parameshwar Inaugurates ACP Office and Police Quarters

Mangaluru: Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar inaugurated the ACP office, police quarters (16 houses) and police station at Panambur here on November 18.

Addressing the gathering HM Dr Parameshwar said, “The police department should work with integrity. When the police department is good, the government will provide all the facilities. After the congress party came to power, the government launched the “Police Vasati Graha”. Under this scheme, we will be constructing 11,000 quarters throughout the state. The government is aiming to provide quarters to one lakh police personnel with each quarters costing Rs 16 lakh”.

Parameshwar further said, “The government will provide the police personnel all the facilities so that the police department will work efficiently with transparency. Police stations will be computerised to help the police to provide a people-friendly service. Every year each police station will be given Rs 1 lakh for maintenance of the police station. If there is a need to appoint more staff, the police commissioner or SP should submit their requirements and the government will surely provide the necessary staff”.

He also said, “Within two months 25 vehicles will be given to Mangaluru police commissionerate. These vehicles will reach any of the accident spot or crime area within 5 minutes. There is confusion among the police that certain areas do not come under their jurisdiction, but henceforth the police will not refuse to go to any area giving the reason that it does not come under their jurisdiction”.

Announcing increment for the police, Dr Parameshwar said, “The salary has been increased for the police staff. On November 18, we have announced the hike in salary for the police department.”

District minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai, former minister Abhaychandra Jain, MLA Moideen Bava, IGP Arun Chakravarthy, Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar and others were also present.
