HM M B Patil arrives in Udupi, Reviews Situation of Missing Fishermen
Udupi: The State Home Minister M B Patil arrived in the city to review the situation and to speak to the families of the missing fishermen on January 5.
The Home Minister was welcomed by the party leaders and district administration at the circuit house. The home minister received the guard of honor by the district police.
Speaking to the mediapersons Home Minister M B Patil said, “Today I am here in Udupi to personally review the situation and to speak to the families of the missing fishermen along with the boat that went missing off the coast of Goa on December 15. Since then the family members of the fishermen and the locals are in fear. I can understand the pain of the family members. I will collect all the information from the district police, Coastal Security police at the SP office”.
HM Patil further said, “I will hold a review meeting at the DC office with the fishermen association, Local MLA’s and former MLA’s to discuss the future course of action. After the meeting I will meet the fishermen’s families and discuss the issue”, he said.
District minister in-charge Dr Jayamala, Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty, Byndoor MLA Sukumar Shetty, former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, DC Priayanka Mary Francis, IGP western range Arun Chakravarthi, SP Laxman Nimbargi and others were present.
