Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy Lays Foundation Stone for Police Quarters
Mangaluru: The foundation stone was laid for the police quarters at Shaktinagar here on January 12.
Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy laid the foundation stone for the police quarters.
Prior to the programme a guard of honour was given to the home minister.
Addressing the mediapersons HM Ramalinga Reddy said, “Under the Police Graha 2020 scheme we will construct police quarters in all the 30 districts. After the Congress came to power we have started to construct 11,000 houses. More than 2500 houses have been completed and 4000 houses are under completion. This year we will construct more than 4000 houses. Rs 2220 crore will be spent to construct 11,000 houses. We will give priority to the repair of the old houses in the budget. Five years ago the opposition government did not construct any houses for the police.”
32 apartments will be constructed at a cost of Rs 6.28 crores. Out of the 32 Apartments, 24 are for police constables and 8 Apartments for the Sub-inspectors. The project will be done under the Police Graha 2020 scheme.
MLA J R Lobo, Former minister Abhaychandra Jain, Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Police Commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya and others were also present.
