Udupi: A house belonging to Manjunath Shenoy at Kinnimulki near the welcome arch was gutted in fire on Tuesday March 22.
Manjunath had lighted a lamp in his prayer room and had gone to visit the Marigudi Temple in Kaup at 1.00 PM. At around 1.30 PM, his neighbours informed him that his house had caught fire, they also informed the Fire and Emergency services.
The two fire engines rushed to the spot and doused the fire after battling for nearly one hour.
The lamp lighted in prayer room is said to have caused the fire to spread to the entire house. The loss has been estimated at Rs. 2 lakh.
