Houseful Audience Enthralled by ‘Dev Ani Denvchar’ Play at Kalaangann

Mangaluru: Kalakul presented a play based on the concept of God and the Devil, titled ‘Dev ani Denvchar’ (meaning God and the Devil), at the 183rd Monthly Theatre, at Kalaangann, on Sun., March 5, 2017.

God decides to recreate the world to make it as beautiful as it was in the beginning, filled with goodness. He takes the assistance of the devil in selecting a planning committee as to how the new world should be. The devil fulfills his duty and later God recreates the new world as he wanted it to be. Does the new world remain good or become worse than it was before is the climax.

Vikas Lasrado, Rohan D’Souza, Sheldon Tauro, Flavia Rodrigues, Frivita D’Souza, Swarna Veigas and Jackson D’Cunha enacted this play written by Arun Raj Rodrigues and directed by Christopher D’Souza Neenasam. Alron Rodrigues provided music and Hanley Coelho handled the lighting. The show was witnessed by a houseful audience.

Prior to the show, there was a ceremony of handing over the collection of 728 books of Late Prof. Alban Castelino to the Kalaangann Library. Denzil Castelino and Walter Castelino, Prof. Alban’s son and brother, respectively, were present on the occasion. They symbolically handed over a stack of books to Louis J. Pinto, the President of Mandd Sobhann. Eric Ozario – Gurkar, and Kishore Fernandez – Secretary, were present on stage. Vitori Karkal compered the ceremony.
