I am very much disappointed to note that only a few journos have shown up here for the coverage of today’s event. I also urge the media to give wide coverage to such kind of training camps which will attract more participants and also benefit the younger generation to shine in the cricket game.”

This cricket coaching camp solely intends to train the youth in cricket by Santhosh Misquith and his team is an excellent concept, and needs to be complimented. Rs 2500 training fee charged by KCA is quite reasonable, where even a common person can afford to send his or her child to this camp. Parents should support KCA in their project so that this camp achieves success”.

In his presidential address, Dr Udayakumar Irvathur-the Principal of University College said, ” We are extremely glad to be associated with KCA in this project, and we all should thank our Vice Chancellor of Mangaluru University, Dr K Bairappa for readily agreeing to provide the University College ground for the coaching camp, for a period of five years. We also feel proud to say that Indian Cricketer KL Rahul’s mother is employed with the University. I humbly request the youngsters to show interest, commitment and dedication in the cricket game, and on day you may be a great asset to our Indian cricket.”

Apart from that, the budding young players of Coastal Karnataka will have the opportunity for the First time to practice and play matches in turf wickets. Video analysis of each young player will be recorded, which is the part of the project. The work of turf wickets is almost completed. Already three Astro-Turf wickets are prepared for the trainees of the camp. Hostel accommodation will be arranged for the out of station participants. Our Academy style coaching style is built upon International Cricket Council (ICC) coaching manual. Sampath Perera, a reputed Sri Lankan coach will be heading the coaching faculty of the Academy. Srikanth K-a level one coach of ACC, Jayaprakash Shetty, who played for UAE National Cricket and also KPL, and myself, being a level one coach of ICC will be the other coaches during the Camp.”

In an exclusive interaction with Team Mangalorean, Santhosh Misquith said, ” I have been at the helm as the secretary of Karavali Cricket Academy (KCA) for the last two months. I used to work as a coach of under 13 for ICC academy and GMCA academy in Dubai before I joined KCA. I have played for Air India and met many professional players. The reason all coaches and parents are gathered here is because the academy is reopening after some renovation. We have added extra cricket services as more and more people are joining this cricket academy. Karavali cricket clinic is the home of the most cricketers and it was first opened in 1993. Since then it has given Karnataka state many players “.

“We have made the whole of this facility from scratch. We have installed the new cricket nets and soon turf wickets will placed and bowling machine too. We are trying our best to encourage young cricketers by giving them professional help. We have a level 2 coach and player from Sri Lanka who is here to give a few lessons and we hope players find this helpful in improving their skills. We have another coach and player from Kerala and been experienced in Dubai. I would like to inform everyone that the Coaching camp started on 5th April. It will be conducting 30 days training. Please do join us and take advantage of the best cricket training camp in town- and feel the difference. Thank You!”

Shirley M speaking to Team Mangalorean about her his child’s experience at the training camp said, ” My child had his basic training in cricket during a training camp organized by a cricket association last year, and he didn’t like it because of the large group of the participants, and the coaches were not too caring and supportive. Having joined this KCA cricket coaching camp for the last few days, my son is always anxiously waiting to go to the ground, because he says he gets the best training in cricket, and the coaches are friendly and very helpful. My son is very excited and has developed a keen interest in cricket after he had joined this camp. I request other parents also to send their children to this camp, where they can get the best training under good care and guidance from the KCA coaches. My sincere and humble thanks to KCA for already making a difference in my child, in the field of cricket”
