Human Rights Committee being Good Samaritans to Kerala Flood Victims

 

Mangaluru: Seems like the members of Human Rights Committee can’t stop giving and helping the flood victims in distress in Kerala- and even though they just got back after delivering large quantity of materials few days ago, they are once again determined to go back and render more help and aid to the flood victims in Kerala.

Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Jojo K Joseph- State President of Human Rights Committee {HRC} said, ” Human Rights Committee team under my leadership & Dakshina Kannada District President Anwar Hussain & Team had conducted #REBUILDKERALA #REBUILDKODAGU , Relief material collection campaign on September 8th & 9th 2018. There was positive response during the campaign and a positive collection of materials including: Rice, clothes, sanitary pads, foot wears, cleaning brushes & brooms, children pampers, tablets, biscuits, rusks, buckets & mugs, emergency lights, pencil boxes, utensils, mats, wheat powder, soaps, tooth brushes and tooth pastes was donated. An amount of Rs. 40000 was collected as funds from which further relief materials will be purchased to be distributed to the needy”.

“HRC team has decided in its committee meeting on 13th Sep to leave to Kerala initially on Saturday, the 15th of September at 8 PM to a village in Chalakudi in Kerala where families are deprived of basic necessities itself in association with Living Way TV Media and local relief workers to directly distribute the materials to the family members suffering losses due to floods. Following which our team would leave to Kodagu in a weeks time” added Jojo K Joseph.

Other members present during the press meet were- K M Abdul Rahman- Karnataka State Youth President-HRC; U K Mohammed Musthafa- President, DK Anti Corruption; Ms Haseena Ismail- DK Women Welfare District President; and Ms Raziya Ibrahim- DK Women Welfare District Vice President.
