Husainabba Death Case: Dist Court extends Judicial Custody of all the Accused until June 28

 

Udupi: The district sessions court has extended the judicial custody of the 11 accused in connection with Hussaiabba’s death case until June 28.

The judicial custody of all the 11 accused, including the three policemen (Hiriyadka SI D N Kumar, his jeep driver Gopal and head constable Mohan Kotwal) and Suri alias Suresh Mendon, has been extended till June 28.

Apart from the three policemen, the remaining were produced before the Principal Senior Civil judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge V S Pandit amidst tight security.

BD leader Suresh Mendon alias Suri, Bajrang Dal activist Prasad H Deepak Hegde, Uday Shetty, Ratan, Chetan alias Chetan Acharya, Shailesh Shetty, Ganesh Naik, Thukaram and Dinesh Hegde who are in judicial custody were produced before the court.

The Judge heard the argument from both sides and extended the judicial custody till June 28. Three policemen, including the Hariyadka SI, are admitted to the Karwar Hospital and have not been produced before the court on medical grounds.

The involvement of three policemen in the murder of cattle trader Husseinabba (62), whose body was discovered at Shenarabettu in Perdur on May 30, was ascertained due to a major blunder by them during a joint operation with Sangh Pariwar activists.

Police sources said the post mortem report clarifies whether the death was due to a heart attack or assault.

The report was submitted before District and Sessions Court and the hearing for the bail plea of the accused is posted for July 18.
