Husainabba’s Suspicious Death, 4 BD Activists Arrested
Udupi: The SP of Udupi Laxman Nimbargi has officially confirmed that four Bajrang Dal activists have been arrested by the Udupi police in connection with the suspicious death of cattle trader Hussainabba (62) near a coffee plant in Perdoor on May 30.
The arrested have been Identified as Bajrang Dal leader Suresh Mendon, Prasad Kondadi, Umesh Shetty and Rathan.
Suresh and Prasad were arrested in Bellary and Umesh and Ratan were arrested in Udupi district.
Following the incident, Suresh Mendon, who had gone to Bellary, and Prasad were taken into custody in Bellary. It is learned that Suresh and Prasad were the main accused in the crime and they were arrested. Umesh and Rathan who had helped in the crime were also arrested in Udupi.
According to the complaint filed by Muhammed Ismail in the Hiriyadka police station, on May 30 at around 4:00 am, Bajrang Dal activists allegedly came by a pick-up van and waylaid the Scorpio at Seenabettu Perdur which was carrying cattle. Husainabba was one of the occupants in the Scorpio. According to the complaint, it is alleged that Bajrang Dal activists had manhandled Husainabba and murdered him.
Based on the complaint, the Hiriyadka police had filed a case under sections 143, 341, 147, 148, 427, 302 and 149 IPC.
