I am an Aspirant If Given ticket will contest from Chitradurga – Actress Bhavana
Mangaluru: “Call me Srimati Bhavana from today onwards because people are confused and are calling me Srimati, Mrs, Madam so on, so I will put an end to all the confusion and from today onwards people can call me Srimati Bhavana. Srimati means most wise, so I like the name Srimati”, said Indian Film Actress, KPCC Secretary and Publicity In-charge Bhavana Ramanna in a press meet held at the DCC office here on February 3.
Addressing the mediapersons Bhavana said, “I am an aspirant for the forthcoming elections and would like to contest from Chitradurga if the party gives me an opportunity. I am originally from Undivided Dakshina Kannada but I stay in Chitradurga. I have been actively involved in the Congress party. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President Dr Parameshwar, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal and the President of Publicity Committee D K Shivakumar have assured me of giving the ticket. So I have thought of contesting from Chitradurga.”
Bhavana further said, “Mangaluru means I get nervous because the people of Dakshina Kannada are very smart. But in this intellectuals city, many untoward incidents have taken place and people are not raising their voices against such incidents which are very unfortunate. Even the media has been highlighting this negative news. The Media plays an important role in bringing changes in the society. Even during the demonetization people here did not oppose it. People are so vocal in DK but in such issues, they have maintained silence.”
When asked about how confident she is in getting the ticket to contest the Assembly elections from Chitradurga? Bhavana said, “I have moral support from the president, KPCC president and others. Chitradurga is a remote area compared to Bengaluru city. I am very close and well known to the people there.”
District Congress President Harish Kumar, KPCC Secretary Mamatha Gatti, KPCC General Secretary Lavanya, District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto, Appi and others were also present.
