‘I am Hardcore Hindutvavadi, will Never Join Congress Party’ – Byndoor MLA Sukumar Shetty
Udupi: “I am a close aide of the BJP State president Yeddyurappa, moreover I am a Hardcore Hindutvavadi. I wish Yeddyurappa to be the chief minister of the state. But some persons with vested interests are publishing fake news in media,” said Sukumar Shetty Byndoor MLA.
He was clarifying on the news aired by a particular TV Channel on Saturday that Sukumar Shetty will be joining the Congress party. Sukumar Shetty said, “I am a person who responds honestly to the problems of the people of my constituency. I never give importance to money, I have worked as a trustee of Kollur Temple for 10 years. The Kollur Mookambika Temple Goddess is the witness for my good work in the Party,” he said.
“The TV report has hurt me a lot. The report has claimed that senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes, minister U T Khader and MLA Harish Kumar have made all the arrangements for me to join Congress party. I agree that I am an ex-Congressman and had I left that party 15 years ago. There is no chance of my returning to that party again. I have great respect for Oscar Fernandes because he is a senior leader of our district but I have not met him for 18 years. I met minister U T Khader for the first time in Bengaluru recently during the sand related meeting. I have not met Harish Kumar,” he said.
“Before telecasting any news against anyone it should be confirmed. I have decided to take legal action against the TV channel”, he said.
