‘I may not live to see the Next Dasara’ – Poojary during Navarathri Utsav Press Meet

Mangaluru: The auspicious Navarathri Utsav and Mangaluru Dasara will be celebrated at Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli from September 21 to October 1, 2017. All preparations are going on well, I have visited all the places in the city to inspect the preparations until late night. I do not know whether I will live for the next Navarathri Utsav and Mangaluru Dasara, maybe this will be my last celebrations”, said the Chairman and the Founder Trustee of Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli B Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at the Temple premises here on September 18.

Addressing the mediapersons Janardhan Poojary said, “On September 21, at 12:20 pm the idols of Navadurgas along with Goddess Sharade will be erected. On all the 10 days special Puja’s will be held. On September 28, at 10:00 am Chandika Homa and Hagalotsava will be held followed by Annasantharpane. On September 30 the Mangaluru Dasara procession of Shree Sharada Matha and Navadurga idols will start from Shree Gokarnanatha Kshethra at 4:00 pm. More than 75 tableaux, various cultural dance troupes and more than 500 decorated umbrellas will increase the beauty of the Dasara Procession”.

Poojary further said, “I have visited all the places to check the lighting work and the preparations. I do not know whether I will live to see the next Navarathri Utsav. Maybe this Dasara will be my last. A Minister of the State will inaugurate the programme and for security purposes, the name of the minister cannot be revealed.”

The 7 kilometre Dasara procession will start from the Temple Premises Kudroli on September 30 and pass through Kambala Road – Ladyhill – Lalbagh – Ballalbagh – Kodialbail – Hampankatta – VV College – Ganapati Highschool – Car Street and New Chitra Talkies and reach Kudroli on October 1.

President of Temple managing Committee H S Sairam, Vice President Raghavendra Kulur, Treasurer Padmaraj R, Trustees B K Tharanath, Ravishankar Mijar, K Mahesh Chandra, Temple Development Committee Members Devendra Poojary, M Shekar Poojary, Ramanath Karandoor, D D Kattemar, Dr Anasuya B T Salian and Leelaksha Karkera were also present.

Jannanna we all wish and pray that you will celebrate at least 23 more Dasera. We don’t want anything more than that.May god bless you with good health
