I saw Someone Jumping into the Netravathi river, tried to Rescue him – Simon
Mangaluru: “I saw a man jumping from the 8th pillar into the river Netravathi. I was in the boat near the 6th pillar and tried my best to save him. But when I reached the spot the man had drowned”, said Simon D’Souza.
Speaking to the mediapersons Simon said, “I am a fisherman and I went fishing at 5:30 pm. After throwing the net, I was sitting at the 6th pillar. At around 7:30 pm, I heard a sound from the 8th pillar of the bridge and saw a man jump into the river. I immediately rushed near the spot but that man had drowned.”
Simon D’Souza further said, “Yesterday there was less water in the river compared to other days. I think the body will soon come to the surface. I had seen the man jumping from the bridge but I do not know who the person was.”
