ICYM and YCS Urwa Unit jointly Hold Youth Day
Mangaluru: ICYM and YCS Urwa unit jointly organized the youth day for all the youth of Urwa parish. Many youths enthusiastically participated in this programme. The programme began at 9:00 am with the registration at the church hall followed by Holy Eucharist celebration in the church.
Chief guest and resource person for the day was Leena Lobo Executive Engineer MESCOM. In her speech, she emphasized on value-based life and responsibilities of youth in the society and in the family. Fr Stany Pereira parish priest presided over the programme and appreciated the youth for gathering in large numbers. Fr Jason Lobo, Francis Saldanha, Lucy D’Souza, Rochelle Misquith ICYM Unit President and Elden Lobo YCS Unit President were the dignitaries on the dais.
YCS members invoked God’s blessings on the programme through a prayer song, Rochelle Misquith welcomed the gathering, Gavin Lobo ICYM Vice president verbalized the words of gratitude, Neil D’Souza prepared and organized the inauguration while Rozita and Lenisha were the emcees for the programme. Later under the leadership of Neil D’Souza cultural programme and various games were conducted. Because of the hard efforts of YCS and ICYM members, the youth day was successful and a day to remember.
ICYM Cascia Unit organises ‘Nakli Nesnaso Mel’
ICYM Cascia Unit organised “Nakli Nesnaso Mel” an inter-ward fancy dress competition on 15th August 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Cascia Church Hall. Fr Harold Mascarenhas Parish Priest wished all the participants best of luck. Shobha Fernandes, Roshan Crasta and Sweeny Maria D’Souza were the judges. 7 different categories based on the age group (about 15 -18 participants under each category) and 1 group from each ward. A huge number of parishioners participated in all the categories.
Fr Harold Mascarenhas thanked all the parishioners for taking an active part and also for being there to support the participants. Reecha D’Souza and Ovin Theodore were the emcees for the evening. This was the 4th event of “Thalenthacho Pavs season 2” and the parishioners witnessed another successful event organised by the ICYM members.
