ICYM Bajjodi celebrates ‘Vanamahotsava’

Bajjodi: Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi, ICYM unit which is affiliated to Indian Catholic Youth Movement Mangalore Diocese observed the Vanamahotsava Day on Sunday, 09th July 2017.
The programme commenced after the Sunday morning 6:30 mass. The programme was held in the church premises. Parish Priest Fr Shabas Crasta, along with Fr Ivan D’Souza, Fr Ajit Rodrigues, Vice President Joseph Mascarenhas, Secretary Irene Menezes, ICYM President Jewel Fernandes were present.
The event began with a short welcome by Ms Clerita Lobo, which was followed by prayer by ICYM youth. Fr Shabas Crasta in his message highlighted on the Importance of Vanamahotsava. He also stressed on how the parishioners can grow plants in and around their house and make a change in the society. ICYM youth handed over the sapling to Fr Shabas and it was planted in the garden.
Later, Jewel Fernandes, ICYM president delivered the vote of thanks. Clerita Lobo, Secretary of ICYM compered the programme. A total of 100 saplings were distributed to the parishioners.
It was a good social awareness program to express our love towards Mother nature……
