ICYM Bantwal unit Anti-Rabies Camp 2K18
Bantwal: On account of the National Dog Day, Anti-rabies vaccination camp was conducted by the youth of Infant Jesus Church, Bantwal on 26th August 2018. This programme was conducted in collaboration with the Veterinary hospital, Bantwal. Three veterinary inspectors were present for this event.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of the Parish Priest Fr Maxim Noronha, Assistant Parish Priest Fr Ashwin Crasta, Parish Vice President Sandeep Menezes and Secretary Richard D’Souza by vaccinating the church dogs.
Thereafter the members had their breakfast and moved towards the spots assigned to them in Bantwal locality. The members were divided into three teams lead by Sandeep, James and Avinash. The other ICYM volunteers who took part in this event are Dale, Jeston, Annet, Aniketh, Shalvin, Elvin, Melisha, Denzil, Jemston, Riyana, Vinitha Royston, Chrisel and Felita.
Around 170 dogs were vaccinated in this camp. There has been an increase in the number of vaccines given from last year to this year by 27%.
Information regarding this event was given to the parishioners on the previous Sunday, the 19th of August. The days programme closed at 2:00 p.m with lunch. ICYM Bantwal has been conducting this event successfully since 13 years.
