ICYM Bantwal Unit holds Cricket and Lagori Christmas Cup 2k18
Bantwal: ICYM Bantwal Unit organised Christmas Cup 2k18 on 28th October 2018 at the Church grounds. Cricket was organised for men and Lagori for women.
Assistant Parish Priest Fr Ashwin L Crasta, Vice-President Sandeep Menezes and Secretary Richard D’Souza inaugurated the tournament by batting and hitting the dice of Lagori. 10 teams took part in cricket and 9 teams in Lagori.
After some interesting matches, Sthri Sangatan lead by Avitha won the first place for the third time and Church ward lead by Gretta Moras won the second place. In cricket, Infant Mary/St. Theresa of Kolkotta ward won the first place for the consecutive third time with Daniel D’Souza to lead the team and St. Peter/Christ King ward were the runners-up lead by Julius.
ICYM members Aniketh, Anisha Frank and James Sequeira gave the commentary along with the Assistant Parish Priest for the whole day. The referees for Lagori were Avinash Jeevan D’Souza and Sandeep D’Souza. The scoring was done by Felita Noronha for Lagori and for cricket it was done by Anikeith, James and Annet. The umpires for cricket were Avinash D’Souza, Daniel D’Souza, Robin Baretto, Vijith Saldanha, Sandeep D’souza, James Sequeira, Marvin D’Souza, Denzil D’Souza and Criston D’Souza.
ICYM president Avinash Jeevan D’Souza and Secretary Annet Carol D’Souza monitored the whole event which went on in a smooth manner.
