ICYM Kinnigoli organizes Toy & Book Exchange Programme with ‘Christmas Sharing & Giving’ Motto
Kinnigoli: A First of its kind Toy and Book Exchange programme was held on 23rd December at Kinnigoli church by ICYM-Kinnigoli in association with Mangalore Properties. This program was held in order to foster the spirit of sharing and giving during the Christmas season among children
More than 100 children participated by giving their old unused toys and books . Those who couldn’t afford toys were given toys by Mangalore Properties. Roger Pinto-the proprietor of Mangalore Properties said, ” This is a unique way to help children learn to share their toys with the needy and it helps them to be more sharing and caring in this busy and gadget filled world where most of us don’t have time to even speak even to our neighbours “
Each child got an opportunity to pick his own toy within 1 minute and we’re assisted by ICYM members of kinnigoli under the leadership of ICYM president Preetham. All the toys which were short were donated by Mangalore Properties and were further distributed to orphanage kids of Preethi Sadan at Kateel.
All the kids had their photograph clicked with Santa Claus which brought a lot of Happiness and Smiles to not only the those who received but more to those who gave. More such programs can be initiated all through Mangalore and Udupi churches in order to show the importance of sharing during this Christmas Season
