ICYM Madanthyar unit celebrated Feast of Nativity of Blessed Mother Mary
Indian Catholic Youth Movement Madanthyar unit celebrated Feast of Nativity of Blessed Mother Mary on 8th September 2018 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Madanthyar.
The celebration began with the grand procession from Madanthyar town to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Madanthyar. All the youth and devotees honoured Blessed Mother Mary by offering flowers followed by the Holy Eucharistic Mass.
Fr Basil Vas Parish Priest Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Madanthyar and Director of ICYM Madanthyar unit preached on the importance of nativity feast and blessed the new grains.
ICYM Madanthyar unit members distributed payasm (mixed with blessed grains) to the parishioners. Ronson Veigas Unit President and Lavita Fernandes Unit Secretary and all the youth took part in the celebrations.

ICYM Madanthyar Unit in collaboration with Nithyadhar Ward organized “Ghadyanth Khel – 2018” on Sunday 9 September 2018 inter ward sports competitions in the fields of Uday Kumar Kattemane at Atthaje, Punjalkatte.
Fr Basil Vas Parish Priest Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Madanthyar and Director ICYM Madanthyar Unit presided over the programme. Chief Guest Arun Furtado – Secretary, Chief Minister of Karnataka State Government. Fr Alwyn D’Souza Assistant Parish Priest and Assistant Director ICYM Madanthyar Unit, Fr Jerome D’Souza Principal Sacred Heart PU College, Deacon Br. Alwyn D’Souza, Jaison Pereira Shirthady President ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese, Vivian Fernandes Madanthyar President ICYM Belthangady Deanery, Sr Treeza Crasta Animator ICYM Madanthyar unit, Lilly Benedicta D’Souza Nithyadhar Ward Gurkar, Uday Kumar Kattemane and Vinay Kumar Kattemane Owner of the field, Chandappa Poojary and Nithin Poojary Owner of the house were the dignitaries on the dais.
The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp with “Kreeda Jyothi” carried by Avil D’Souza Sports Incharge ICYM Madanthyar unit and Fr Alwyn D’Souza gave a kick-start to the programme with a Buffallo race in the field. Ronald Sequiera Vice President Parish Pastoral Council conducted the oath-taking ceremony. Under the Leadership of ICYM Madanthyar Unit, 22 Ward parishioners of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Madanthyar actively participated in the competitions. Arvin Moras and Tyson D’cunha were the convenors of the programme. Elias and Saritha Lobo were the judges for the programme. Maria Pereira and Ronald Monis compered the programme.
