ICYM-Mangalore Diocese to host ‘Diaference 2018’ Conference on 11 February
Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Fr Ronald Prakash D’souza-Director of ICYM-Mangaluru diocese said, “Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Central Council in collaboration with ICYM Kinnigoli deanery is all set to organize ‘Diaference – 2018’, at the Pakshikere Church Grounds on 11th February 2018. Nearly 2000 youth from 117 parishes of Mangalore Diocese will attend the program this youth conference which is held on the theme ‘Youth to witness Christ at Society’s different walks of life’. The conference will commence with a ‘Peace Rally’ flagged off by Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza at 8:30 am from Pakshikere Bus Stand to Pakshikere Church Grounds which will be followed by the inauguration at 9:30 am.Msgr. Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese will preside over the inaugural program with Lt. Col Gracian Sequeira as the Chief Guest.”
Also speaking during the press meet, Elroy Saldanha- President-ICYM-Mangaluru diocese said, “Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore will preside over the valedictory ceremony. Eminent NRI Entrepreneur James Mendonca will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Fr Vincent Monteiro – Vicar Forane of Kinnigoli Deanery, Fr. Chethan Machado – Secretary CCBI Youth Commission, Fr. Anil D’Sa – Karnataka Regional Youth Director and Raymond D’Souza – ICYM National Governing Council member will be the guests of honour.”
Joel Concessao the IYCM secretary speaking said, “The Conference ‘Diaference – 2018’ at Pakshikere Church Grounds in collaboration with ICYM Kinnigoli Deanery will be led by Director – Fr Clifford Pinto, President – Preema Pinto, Secretary – Jenifer Saldanha and deanery committee. The highlights of the conference are panel discussions on the theme, Holy Eucharistic celebration and cultural programs depicting the Konkani culture. On 11 February, at 8.30 am, there will be a ‘Diaference Yuva rally”; 9:30 am- Flag Hoisting and Inaugural Ceremony; 10:15 am-Ice Breaking; 10:45 am-Panel Discussions on the Theme; 11:45 am-Holy Eucharistic Celebration; 12:45 pm-Lunch; 1:45 pm-Cultural Programme; and at 3:30 pm-Valedictory ceremony
