ICYM Omzoor holds ‘Best Amigos forever 2018’ on National Friendship Day
Indian Catholic Youth Movement Omzoor Unit on the occasion of National Friendship Day proudly organised “BEST AMIGOS FOREVER 2018” on 05 August 2018 at Sabha Bhavan Holy Family Church Omzoor.
This event was conducted to create positive impacts on the lives of people through their participation, to develop connections with their peers, to share their interests and talents, to share experiences that many other individuals enjoy.
Fr Alwyn DCunha Parish Priest and Director of ICYM Omzoor Unit, Patrick Pinto Vice President Holy Family Church Omzoor and Roshal Joint Secretary ICYM Bantwal Deanery were present on the dais. Josna D’Souza President, ICYM Omzoor Unit welcomed the gathering.
Overall 36 teams participated in the competition. 11 various activities and games were conducted for the participants. There was a huge gathering of 72 participants in total. The first place was bagged by Ashlin D’Souza & Austin D’Souza and the second place by Lloyd Rebello & Herryston D’Mello.
The presence of Fr Ronald D’Souza Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese and the members of Central Council ICYM Mangalore Diocese overwhelmed the gathering. Elroy Saldanha delivered the vote of thanks. The participants shared their views about the event stating it was definitely a day to remember forever. “Best Amigos Forever 2018” was concluded by singing the anthem of ICYM.
ICYM Mangalore Diocese celebrates National Youth Sunday all over the Diocese
National Youth Commission, The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (C.C.B.I) observed and celebrated National Youth Sunday with the theme Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment on Sunday 5 August 2018 across India.
To mark this auspicious celebration all the youth of Mangalore Diocese joined hands and celebrated National Youth Sunday all over the Diocese by conducting Sunday Liturgy along with the activities like Vanamahotsava, Shramdhan programme, Ashram Visit, Yuvasamavesh, Water Games, Blood Donation Camps, Friendship Day Celebration, Career Guidance Programme to the youth, Free Medical Camp, Talents Day and Monsoon Food Exhibition were conducted in their respective parishes.
