ICYM Udupi Diocese Launches official Logo of REDROP
Udupi: As a gift for Christmas ICYM Diocese of Udupi will soon launch the signature product and project “REDROP” app based on communicating the blood donors for the people of Udupi district. As a beginning, the launch of REDROP Official Logo and Poster was unveiled on Monday November 12, 2018 at Stella Maris Church Hall, Kalmady.
Dr Vincent Alva, Principal, Milagres College Udupi was the chief guest of the program. Addressing the youth he said “Our youth are involved in various activities but coming up with such a good project which will help the society is appreciable. We need such good thinking and youth initiatives to come up with different ideas which will benefit people. I wish all the best to the Redrop team.”
Fr Praveen Monterio , Resident Priest at Stella Maris Church, Kamady applauded the youths for their creative thinking and conducted a prayer service before the launch.
Dion D’Souza, President ICYM Udupi Diocese and team REDROP, gave a brief introduction about the app and explained the experiences of his youth in the social activity of donating blood after which the idea of developing the project REDROP came into existence.
The official logo of REDROP was unveiled by Dr Vincent Alva, Principal of Milagres Degree College and the poster was unveiled by Rayan Fernandes, President of Rotaract club Subhasnagara.
Sanjay Andrade & Shobha Mendonca, Vice President and Secretary of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady, Francis Fernandes, Melwyn Carvelho , President ICYM Kalmady Unit were present for the event.

Team Members of Redrop are Dion D’Souza, Oniel Andrade, Don D’Souza, Viynl D’Souza, Rayan Fernandes, Rayan Christ D’Souza, Jeevan Pereira, Roshan Sequira, Derick Mascarenhas. The team will undergo an expansion of members in days to come.

The features of this app are numerous, favoring and facilitating both the recipient and the donor. Here, people can list themselves as donors, recipients can check their availability, the needy can also post their requirements for blood and donors are immediately notified.
The list of donors and requirements are meticulously managed by a smart algorithm that makes the entire process effective.
