If I have said anything Wrong Let Police File Suo Motu Case – U T Khader
Mangaluru: “If I have said anything wrong or delivered an inciting speech let the police file a Suo Motu case against me. I am ready to face the punishment. My concern is to make people understand the necessity of maintaining peace. After the police firing on December 19 two persons have lost their lives. We are trying to bring peace in the society but those of the ruling party are always on their toes to target me. So far I have not received any information about the case being filed against me”, said former minister U T Khader when asked about a case being filed against him by Sandesh Shetty, district General secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha.
Speaking to mangalorean.com on phone U T Khader said, “On December 16, we the District Congress protested against the NRC and CAB. This fight is for justice. We have learnt that the NRC will be implemented in Karnataka. During my speech, I had said that if the BJP government will implement NRC in Karnataka, like the other states that are burning, there is no doubt Karnataka will also burn. Through my speech, I urged the Chief Minister not to implement NRC in Karnataka. What is wrong in expressing my view and urging the CM not to implement NRC?”
Khader also said, “I am a law student, when I was in college I used to take part in protests and those who opposed me had filed cases against me. BJP has always been targetting me and filing unfounded cases against me. In 2001 and 2006, they filed a case against me for participating in a protest. I am not going to worry about it, let them do whatever they want. My conscience is clear and I know that I have not delivered any inciting speech. If I have done wrong I am ready to face the consequences.”
