If Proper system not followed we will Shut Down Mini Vidhana Soudha – BJP

Mangaluru: The BJP workers staged a protest in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha against the inappropriate system at the Mini Vidhana Soudha and demanded the resignation of District Minister In-charge here on October 26.

Addressing the protesters, the president of BJP South Block, Vedavyas Kamath said, “Two years ago the Congress leaders in a hurry had inaugurated the Mini Vidhana Soudha. Since then there is no generator for the building when there is no power. Today from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, there was no power for the offices in the building since the concerned authorities did not pay the MESCOM electricity bill. Because of the negligence of the concerned authorities, the power to the building was disconnected and the elderly people faced severe problems to climb the stairs.”

Vedavyas Kamath further said, “To provide all the services to the public in a particular building the Mini Vidhana Soudha was constructed. But the people are facing problems in obtaining birth or death certificates and for other work. Through registrations, the revenue department is making profit but not providing basic facilities to the people. The parking area in the building has been converted to the record room. Those who come to the Mini Vidhana Soudha have to park their vehicles on the road causing inconvenience to other road users. The district minister in-charge says that the Congress party is providing transparent governance. They have failed to have a proper road approach to the Mini Vidhan Soudha. The district administration has not appointed any watchman for the building and the parking facilities in the premises is being misused, people who have work outside the building park their vehicles for long hours in the Mini Vidhan Soudha premises which should not be allowed. If a proper system is not followed, the BJP will intensify its protest, he warned.

Addressing the protesters Monappa Bhandary said, “The main reason for the construction of the Mini Vidhana Soudha is to provide all the services to the general public in a particular building. But the people here are not benefiting from the system being followed in the Mini Vidhana Soudha. The elected representatives are not bothered to visit the premises and check the system being followed there. If anyone needs the birth or death certificate they have to wait in a long queue and will take some days to get the certificate. If anyone applies under RTI they themselves have to search for the files. Recently the Mini Vidhana Soudha was inaugurated in Bantwal, but on the same day the Congress party workers broke the main door of the building which exposes the discipline on the party workers.”

Monappa Bhandary further said, “In the Mini Vidhana Soudha if the people want to get their work done, they need to bribe the officer to move their files. If the person will not bribe the officers they will have to struggle to get their work done. Officers in government offices are working as the agents of Congress. If a proper system will not be followed in the Mini Vidhana Soudha in the coming days, we will shut down Mini Vidhana Soudha. People are fed-up with the Congress government and will teach a befitting lesson in the coming elections”.

BJP leaders Jithendra Kottari, Gladwin D’Silva, Sanjay Prabhu and others were also present.
