If Yeddyurappa Contests from Uttara Kannada he will be Driven Away – Veerappa Moily
Mangaluru: “BJP is aware that they will not win the next elections and I am sure that the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah will come to power. The BJP is spreading false rumours against CM Siddaramaiah about the illegal denotification of land. The chief minister is not involved in any illegal denotification of land but the opposition is spreading lies against the CM ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections. In their statement, there is no truth and soon they will be exposed. BJP by saying lies is showing the world that their statements are baseless. Without having any proof, the BJP is leveling false allegations on CM Siddaramaiah”, said the former CM and MP of Chikkaballapur Veerappa Moily in a press meet held at the University College Mangaluru here on October 11.
When asked about Yeddyurappa contesting from Shikaripur, Veerappa Moily said, “If Yeddyurappa contests in Uttara Kannada, people will drive him out so he is contesting from Shikaripur”.
Addressing the mediapersons Vice Chancellor of Mangaluru University Prof Byrappa said, “The Mangaluru University College has completed 149 years on September 24 and is stepping into the 150th year. An open theatre in the vacant land in the college campus. At Dr Dayanand Pai building, the first-floor classrooms work is in progress and it will be completed in February 2018. The building floor will be raised and a recreation hall will be constructed. “College Missalleni” magazine will be released on the inaugural day of renovated Ravindra Kala Bhavan. On the same day, the “Coffe Table” Book will be released. The library will be upgraded and renamed after Dr U R Ranganathan Library. Addressing the mediapersons Veerappa Moily said, “Dr U R Ranganathan had worked from 1917 t0 21 and it is my long pending dream to rename the library after Dr U R Ranganathan’s name. The library will be digitized so that all can access the library from anywhere in the world. A guest house will be constructed on the college campus so that the guests, speakers or the staff can make use of it. I will also take a delegation to the CM to request Rs 50 crore funds for the development of the Mangaluru University College. At the beginning, the results in this college were not so good but now we have 92% results which shows that nothing is impossible.”
Registrar Prof Lokesh, Former Mayor and old student Sashidhar Hegde, Nambiar, Anupama Ananthmurthy and others were also present.
That is why you contested from Chikballapur. You cannot contest from either DK or Udupi.
