IGP Orders Police to Open Fire on Trouble Makers, Says Situation Under Control
Mangaluru: The IGP Ordered the Police personnel to Open Fire on those who assault cops and try to escape.
On July 8, when the body of RSS worker Sharath was taken in a procession in B C Road stone pelting was reported. while the members of the Sangh Parivar were taking out the body of Sharath from the vehicle there was some misunderstanding and exchange of words between police and the activists. It is said that some of those in the procession also pelted stones to some shops and vehicles.
In connection with the stone pelting incident, the police have already taken 20 persons into custody. The police have been video recording every movement in Bantwal. It is also said that the stone pelting incident on July 8 was a pre-plan of the Sangh Parivar to create violence which has been video recorded by the police. While checking vehicles the police have recovered stones in a Omni car belonging to the Sangh Parivar.
In the district 26 check posts have been set up to check outgoing and incoming vehicles. The IGP has ordered the police to open fire on any vehicles that fail to stop for checking at the check posts and also on those who try to assault the police on duty at the check posts.
The IGP in a meeting with the police has instructed them to take strict action against trouble mongers.
The IGP has also warned that if anyone tries to take the law into their hands they will be severely dealt with. IGP also said that the situation in Bantwal is under control.
