Illegal Gas Refilling Centres Raided, 2 Arrested and 153 Cylinders Seized
Mangaluru: The CCB Police along with the food department officers raided illegal Gas Refilling centres in Bolar and Jeppu Market and arrested 2 persons on December 15.
The arrested have been identified as Prashanth (42) from Bolar and Sadashiv Rai (47) from B C Road.
According to the police on December 15, on getting information that two persons were refilling gas cylinders illegally selling them in Bolar and Jeppu Market, the CCB Police along with the food and Civil Supplies department officers raided both the centres and seized 153 cylinders from their possession.
To get additional income both Prashanth and Sadashiv were refilling empty gas cylinders, they were draining gas from the cylinders supplied to government companies and filling it to empty cylinders. The police have seized 17 refilled gas cylinders, 136 empty cylinders, gas refilling pump, accessories, pick-up truck and a goods tempo all worth Rs 6.44 lakh from their possession.
The operation was carried out by the CCB Inspector Shantharam, PSI Shyam Sundar, Kabbal Raj, Mangaluru South Police Station PSI Rajendra, Manjula and officer from the Food and Civil Supplies Kamala.
