Illegal Possession of Weapon, Underworld Don Vishwanath Koraga Shetty’s Aide arrested
Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested a man in connection with illegally possessing a pistol on December 20.
The arrested has been identified as Hemanth Kumar alias Hemu (47) from Hoige Bazar. He is a close associate of underworld don Vishwanath Koraga Shetty.
According to the police on December 20, after getting information from reliable sources that the accused in the Anish Shetty murder case is illegally in possession of a pistol and deadly weapons, the CCB police got into action and arrested Hemanth Kumar from Hoige Bazar.
The police confiscated a Pistol, 4 lives bullets, 2 machetes, knife, baseball stick and two mobile phones all worth Rs 1,12,750 from his possession.
The accused was involved in various crimes and was the prime accused in Anish Shetty murder case near Kadri Park in 2014. In Mangaluru South Police station two murder attempts cases have also been registered against him.
The accused has been handed over to the Mangaluru South Police station along with the seized weapons for further investigations.
The operation was carried out by the CCB Inspector Shantharam Kundar, PSI Shyam Sundar and team.
