We are with Ilyas Family in their Grief – Minister Khader

Mangaluru: “We are with the family of Ilyas in their grief. Ilyas wife is like my sister and I know her pain losing her husband. If the real accused in Ilyas murder case will be arrested the family members will get some relief,” said the minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on January 19.

When questioned about the statement given by Ilyas’s wife, “During the elections, U T Khader was coming to meet Ilyas but now where is he?”, Khader said, “I do not know about the statement of Ilyas’s wife. I do not want to give any statement now, since the family is in pain and I do not want to increase it. People of Ullal constituency are aware of whom I should approach, whose help I should take and have taken. I have discussed with the police department in arresting the accused in the Ilyas murder case.”

Khader further said, “I have concern towards Ilyas’s wife and my humble request is not to play politics in this case. When Deepak Rao was murdered Ilyas was highlighted and at that time he was in jail. When Deepak’s killers were arrested by the police, the police did not show their face to anyone, no one had asked their names or their background. When the news was published the accused were wearing the mask. Why did the media not show their face? Why only Ilyas was targetted?”
