In the Wake of Lok Sabha Elections giving False News/Promises is Just a Nataka by BJP- Corporator and Congress Party Spokesperson Vinay Raj
Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at District Congress Office, Mallikatta-Mangaluru, Congress Party Spokesperson and Corporator Vinay Raj said, “We all know that Lok Sabha elections will be here soon, and this is the time that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and other local BJP leaders are calling for press meets, without any supporting documents pertaining to what they are saying and promising is just a Nataka (Drama), and nothing else. They are fooling the citizens by giving false news and assurances, in order to gain votes in the forthcoming elections”.
“I request the citizens of Mangaluru and DK, not to take any words said by the BJP leaders for granted, without knowing the true facts. Under the Congress rule, there have been various projects planned, and now BJP is taking credit for all of them. The Bikkarnakatte-Karkala road widening project was the initiative of Congress, and recently MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had called for a press meet taking credit for that project, which is not right. Today, Union minister for road transport, highways and shipping, Nitin Gadkari, laid the foundation stone for fishing jetty at Kulai and several road-development works under Sagarmala and Bharathmala projects through video conference here at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centenary Hall New Mangalore Port, Panambur, but BJP once again are claiming the credit even though the plan was implemented by Congress,” added Vinay Raj.
Blasting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and other BJP honchos, Vinay said, “Where were MP Kateel and other BJP leaders to talk about the pending projects, and now all of a sudden when elections are nearing and giving statements of various projects being taken up and completed at the earliest. MP Kateel should highlight his failed project of Kankanady Pumpwell before promising the people of DK about new projects. It’s a shame that a flyover has taken over eight years and still not completed, even though various inauguration dates of the flyover have been cancelled, and now a fresh new date of the inauguration is fixed for May 2019- which will not materialize either. Talking about four-lane road projects like Bikkaranakatte to Sanoor Junction; Mulky to Thokkuttu; foundation stone laying for a new three-lane bridge across the Phalguni river at Kuloor; other road infrastructure are all fake promises since these projects were planned by Congress initially”.
“Upgrading the Bunder dock was the plans of Congress, but now BJP is trying to poke its nose into it and wants to get the credit. Many other road developments which the MP and other BJP leaders are publicizing during their press meets are nothing but for vote bank, and voters should be careful as to whether these projects which the BJP leaders are real, by demanding proper documents. I urge MP Kateel and other BJP leaders to prove that they are right on what they are saying about the proposed projects, by submitting to us the required documents pertaining to the said projects by them. Only then we could believe these BJP leaders, and not otherwise” said Vinay Raj.
“Instead of supporting the local farmers growing arecanut, our Central government is importing substitute arecanut from abroad, thereby ruining the lives of these farmers. Regarding the IT hub (Infosys) at Mudipu, it was a start-up plan by Congress, and now BJP is getting into to gain popularity and credit. Whatever false news or assurances these BJP leaders are giving, people very much know that they are just gimmicks during election time, and Congress will give a befitting reply in the forthcoming elections by crushing the BJP dynasty. Congress will show a lesson in the coming Lok Sabha elections,” said Vinay Raj. Youth Congress leader Mithun Rai and other Congress leaders were present during the press meet.
Following the press meet, the Congress Mahila Sabha had organized a two-wheeler rally to promote tomorrow’s mega Congress Conference happening at Adyar Garden, where top Congress leaders from the state cabinet will be attending. But unfortunately, the police denied permission for them to carry on with the rally, due to a future ban on any processions or rallies by anyone. But since they were all prepared, these congresswomen, just for the heck of it took a small quarter KM rally from the Congress office till Malikatta and back, and satisfied their enthusiasm and spirits.
