Incredible and Mesmerizing stunts at ‘Pili Nalike 4’, Polali Tigers and Vaidyanatheshwar Adyapady Tiger Team Emerge Winners

Mangaluru: The Polali Tigers and the Vaidyanath Adyapadi tiger dance team shared the first place in “Pili Nalike 4”, at the Volleyball grounds, Mangala stadium here on September 29.

Addressing the gathering Minister for Food and Civil services U T Khader said, “From the past four years youth leader Mithun Rai and Dr Shivasharan Shetty are organizing Pili Nalike which is a successful annual event. Tiger dance is a popular art of Tulunadu and people have gathered here in a large numbers. In the coming days, we all should recommend the Dakshina Kannada Pili Nalike to be recognized in Mysuru Dasara. I congratulate Mithun Rai and Dr Shivasharan for keeping the tiger dance alive.”

Addressing the gathering Former minister and MLA of Moodbidri Constituency Abhaychandra Jain said, “From the past four years Mithun Rai and Dr Shivasharan Shetty are organizing Pili Nalike. When we were small during Dasara we used to go behind the tiger dancers to watch their dance. But now these two youngsters have made arrangements for the people of Mangaluru to come and watch the Pili Nalike in a particular place. Kambala is a traditional sport of Tulunadu likewise Pili Nalike also is a traditional art. As Minister U T Khader said, the Pili Nalike of Dakshina Kannada should surely be recognized and performed during the Mysusru Dasara in the coming days.”

Jain further said, “The present generation should enjoy the tradition and culture of Tulunadu and so we should all promote it. Earlier Pili Nalike was not recognized but our youth leader Mithun Rai has given a different touch to it by organizing the Pili Nalike competitions and popularising it. This is the fourth consecutive year, Mithun is organizing Pili Nalike in a disciplined manner. Let us all join hands to promote the culture of Tulunadu”.

Mithun Rai before announcing the winners, said, “Winning and losing is part of the game, but this stage is not for winning or losing. We have organized Pili Nalike to encourage the tiger dancers. Even the tiger dancers said that they are dancing for their satisfaction and not to win prizes. Today the 9 teams here have presented their skills on this stage. Actually, all the 9 teams here are the winners. The judges had a very tough time to select the winners. Following the rules of the contest, three winners were finally selected. The people of Mangaluru have gathered in large numbers to support the tiger dancers, I want the same support from the public in the coming years.”

Judges Sudhakar Pejavar and Venkatesh Bhat were also felicitated on the occasion. Music director Gurukiran Shetty mesmerised the audience with his melodious voice.

MLA Moideen Bava, Devadas Kapikad, Bojaraj Vamanjoor, Roopesh Shetty and others also spoke on the occasion.

Best Painting – Mulihithlu Games Team
Best Individual Dancer – Polali Tiger Dance Team
