Incredible stunts at ‘Pili Nalike 3’, Polali Tigers Emerge Winners
Mangaluru: The Polali Tiger Dance Team won the first place in Pili Nalike 3, at the Volleyball grounds here on October 10.
Addressing the gathering former minister Abhaychandra Jain said, “When I was the minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports, I promoted Kambala and included it for the Kreeda Ratna Award. Now the Food and civil Supplies minister is also here, we both will meet the present minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj to include Pili Nalike also for the Kreeda Ratna Award”.
Jain further said that the present generation should enjoy the tradition and culture of Tulunadu and we need to promote it. Earlier Pili Nalike was not recognized but our youth leader Mithun Rai has given a different touch to it by organizing the Pili Nalike competition. This is the third consecutive year, Mithun is organizing Pili Nalike in a disciplined manner. Let us all join hands to promote the culture of Tulunadu.
Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader congratulated Mithun for organizing the Pili Nalike and encouraging the tiger dance teams. This is an opportunity to get state and national-level recognition for tiger dance. We have to continue the tradition and culture of our elders. Mithun is doing a wonderful job by promoting tiger dance, it is an art and we all should encourage the tiger dancers.
Mithun Rai before announcing the winners, said, “Winning and losing is part of the game, but this stage is not for winning and losing. We have organized Pili Nalike to encourage the tiger dancers. If we want to promote tiger dance we need a lot of support from the public. Today the 9 teams here have presented their skills on this stage. All the 9 teams are winners but we have selected one winner since we need to follow the rules of the contest. The people of Mangaluru have gathered in large numbers to support the tiger dancers, I want the same support from the public in the coming years.”
Judges Sudhakar Pejavar and Venkat were also felicitated on the occasion. Director and actor Rakshith Shetty also danced along with the tiger dance team. Mayor Harinath and former Mayor Sashidhar Hegde also spoke on the occasion.
Music Director Gurcharan Shetty, Dr Shivasharan Shetty and others were also present. Naveen Shetty compered the programme.
The prize distribution of “Pili Nalike 3” was held, Abhayachandra Jain and U T Khader distributed the prizes to the winners.
