Indian Army Imposter Manjunath Reddy Arrested in Suratkal
Mangaluru: In a press release issued by Police Commissioner Dr Harsha stated, “On November 24, at approx 11:00 am military intelligence Unit number 4 detachment Southern Command Liaison Unit, Intelligence team led by Intelligence officer Major Swathi Srivalli Dharwadkar, carried out a joint operation with Mangaluru North Subdivision ACP Squad in which an Indian Army imposter namely Manjunath Reddy posing as Indian Army Junior Commissioned officer was arrested from his rented house at Lord Krishna Estate Suratkal under section 171, 419 and 420 IPC registered against him at the Suratkal police station. Many times the related Army uniform has been used by him to pose as serving Indian Army Soldier with scanned fake Indian Army Identity card. Fake Indian Army dependent card and fake Indian Army rubber stamps were recovered from the house of the imposter”.
Imposter Manjunath Reddy claims that he had earlier worked in the “Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre, Belgaum” campus as a civilian employee from where he purchased all the Army dress. Imposter Manjunath Reddy said that he posed Army Junior Commissioned Officer of the rank of naib subedar/subedar major and organized various public events like Felicitation Ceremonies for retired and families of martyred Army personnel. Through which, he gained the trust of the people and later promised them of getting jobs in the Indian Army to serve as Soldier by taking money from them.
Imposter Manjunath Reddy has so far duped many people of Lakhs of rupees with fake promises. The Army intelligence and police suspect that this is a Big fake recruitment racket being run by fraudulent agents/imposters to make money in which imposter Manjunath Reddy definitely is not acting alone and may have people from the Army especially the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre, Belgaum or any Maratha Regimental Army Units who are assisting or guiding the imposter to carry out such acts. The investigation is under progress by both police and the Army Intelligence Unit.
Meanwhile, it is brought to the notice of the public that no Army selection is done by means of paying money to fraudulent agents like imposter Manjunath Reddy. No Army personnel will ask for money to provide direct recruitment order. The only way to join Army is by registering online on Army website www.joinindianarmy.gov.in
