Indian Cancer Society donates towards cancer treatment
Mangaluru: Indian Cancer Society is associated with A J Hospital & Research Centre and has been conducting Cancer Awareness and Screening camps.
On account of World Cancer Day, A J Hospital & Research Centre organised a cancer screening camp from 4th to 9th February 2019 at A J Cancer Institute in association with Indian Cancer Society.
Cancer screening camp benefits included Registration and Consultation Free, Investigations at 25% Discount, free PAP smear test, special concessions on Inpatient treatment.
Oncology awareness and screening camp started at 10.00am on 4th February 2019 by registering patients and continued till 9th February 2019. Patients were screened from 10.00am to 4.00pm every day.
Screening included Oral examination, Gynaecology consultation and breast examination, General examination, Cancer awareness sessions in different allotted sections.
Positive cases identified include Brain, Breast, Esophagus, Gingivobuccal Complex, Liver, Lung, Penis, Sigmoid Colon and Tongue cancer. Treatment of these patients will continue at A J Cancer Institute.
Indian Cancer Society has contributed towards the treatment of identified cancer patients from economically weaker section of the society. The donation received from Indian Cancer Society will strengthen the efforts of A J Cancer Foundation, which is working towards providing quality cancer treatment to the needy.
