Kuching (Malaysia), May 15 (IANS) Indian golfer Ajeetesh Sandhu carded one-under 71 to share the 20th spot after the third round of the PGM MNRB Sarawak Championship at the Kelab Golf Sarawak here on Friday.
Ajeetesh, who had scored 72 and 71 in the first two rounds respectively, now has a three-day total of two-under 214, six shots behind leader Erwan Vieilledent.
Frenchman Vieilledent shot 71 to lead by one shot over Malaysia’s R. Nachimuthu. The 23-year-old rookie from Cannes traded two birdies and one eagle against three bogeys for an eight-under 208 total at the $55,400 Asian Development Tour (ADT) event to hold a narrow advantage.
Nachimuthu fired a 72 to stay in the hunt for a first ADT title while Casey O’Toole of the United States posted a 72 to share third place with overnight leader Airil Rizman, who stumbled to a 74 for a 210 total.
Other Indians in the fray, Pratap Atwal and Feroz Singh Garewal missed the half-way cut.
