India’s First Comprehensive Documentary on ‘Life of Butterflies’ Released at Alva’s College
Moodbidri: ‘’You will only protect nature when you fall in love with it. So care for what you love’’, said the Butterfly Man of India Isaac Kehimkar. He was speaking after releasing India’s first comprehensive documentary on butterflies, ‘’Life of Butterflies’’ produced by Sammilan Shetty’s Butterfly Conservation and Research Trust, Belvai , at Kuvempu Hall, Vidyagiri.
Kudremukh Wild Life Division, DCF, Ruthren P said in the talk “Each of us undergo many difficulties in life like a caterpillar undergoes to become a butterfly. We should also appreciate its significance in nature as we appreciate its beauty. We should not limit ourselves in a comfort zone; instead we venture and explore more in life. “Students should learn to protect nature and adore in their every walk of life. Like sun moon and stars even nature has its own importance and value. Both development and salvation of nature should go hand in hand” said Alva’s Education Foundation, Chairman Dr. M Mohan Alva.
Hundred minute film “Life of Butterflies” covers the less seen journey of the most renowned insects on this planet. The footages of this documentary were captured from Sammilan Shetty’s Butterfly park of Belvai which was set up in the year 2011 by Sammilan Shetty, a young nature lover and butterfly enthusiast with a intension of creating conservation interest among the general public.
