Infant Jesus Priests and SC Nuns attend Ganeshotsava at Sangha Niketan

Mangaluru: The priests from Infant Jesus Shrine and Nuns from Santa Cruz Convent, Kulshekar visited Sanghaniketan to extend greetings for Ganesh Chathurthi to the Hindu brethren here on September 6.

The Director of Infant Jesus Shrine, Fr Elias offered a Silk Saree and fruits to Lord Ganesha and extended greetings to the RSS leaders. In return, prasadam was given to the priests and nuns.

Speaking to the mediapersons the RSS Mangaluru Mahanagara Sanchalak V Nagaraj said, “We are very happy to receive the priests from Infant Jesus Shrine and the Sisters from Santha Cruz Convent Kulshekar. God is one in various forms and the way of devotion is different. Whatever we pray will reach the same God. For the development of the society and country, we should all work unitedly. We need our Country and the society to grow with peace and harmony. All our prayers will reach to the same God. To make this country a great nation we should all join hands and live in harmony and brotherhood”.

He further said, “We are happy today that our invitation has been accepted by the Infant Jesus Shrine and the Sisters from Santha Cruz convent. Let this brotherhood and harmony grow and let peace prevail in the country”.

RSS Mangaluru Mahanagara Prachara Pramukh Ganesh Prasad said, “To strengthen communal harmony, we have invited the priests to the Ganeshotsava celebration. Such visits will facilitate harmony and brotherhood in the society. We celebrated the Raksha Bandhan on August 18, in the Infant Jesus Shrine, in an attempt to strengthen the bond between Hindus and Christians. We had also gone to the Bishop’s house to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and have tied a Rakhi to the Bishop. To strengthen our relationship we need to organize such programmes. This is the first time the priests and the Sisters have visited us for the Ganeshotsava. Earlier we had organized the route march from the Lady Hill Church premises as a symbol of Harmony”.

Speaking to the mediapersons Deputy director of Infant Jesus Shrine, Fr Prakash said, “We accepted the invitation from the RSS leaders who had come to our Shrine on September 3, to invite us for Ganeshotsava. We are here to strengthen the bond and work for Unity, peace and harmony in the society. We should all live in peace and unity. We thank the RSS leaders for inviting us, let this relationship grow, so that the people in the society live in harmony, unity and peace. Let everyone in the society respect each other. Let us all forget our differences and allow others to lead a happy and peaceful life”.

Santha Cruz convent sisters Sr Floritta, Sr Gladis. Sr Nimpla and Sr Deonisa, RSS leaders Raghuveer Kamath, Praveen Kumar, Franklin, Prakash PS, Guruprasad and others were also present.
