Initiation of Pre Entry Level Accreditation Program at Father Muller Hospital-Thumbay
Mangaluru: Father Muller’s Charitable Institutions have a long history. The seed that was sown by Father Muller in 1880 has indeed blossomed and grown into a mighty tree. Indeed this Jesuit Priest who made a small beginning by dispensing homeopathy medications perhaps did not dream that his work would flourish and that it would what it is today. As the legend goes, people had so much confidence in Father Muller that they flocked around Him. It is even said that a few hypochondriacs who used to imagine ailments were sometimes treated by Him with mere sugar pills and the patients professed that they were alright. Such was the faith in Father Muller. Several Jesuits later continued His mission during the years to follow. Few years later, the mission was taken over by The Mangalore Diocese and the contingent of secular priests are continuing the tradition build by their predecessors. Therefor it is not surprising at all that NABH had granted accreditation to Father Muller Hospital, Mangaluru in 2015.
No doubt that the Accreditation in favor of Fr. Muller’s Hospital-Mangaluru was a long awaited desire, and finally the day arrived in October 2015. Congratulations to the then Director of FMCI, Late Fr. Patrick Rodrigues and all the rest of the team who had toiled hard to maintain the standard as well as the quality of the well deserving Institution such as Fr. Muller’s for all that they have dedicated. The legacy of Fr. Muller’s and all past Directors and the workforce deserve that auspicious Accreditation. From the hard work and dedication of former Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’souza and the management and staff at FMCI, this institution has become a world class Medical Institution. The learning process in the field of Medicine also gets a share of the dedication for the patients and the rest of the staff.
Father Muller Hospital-Mangaluru having got that status of NABH in 2015, where it has been serving the patients and the needy in the City, the Administrator of Fr Muller Hospital-Thumbay Fr Roshan Crasta, Medical Superintendent Dr Kiran Shetty, the management crew and staff at FMH-Thumbay thought of “Why not take the initiative of “Pre Entry Level Accreditation Program at Father Muller Hospital-Thumbay”, so that the quality of service and facilities which is provided by NABH Accredited Fr Muller Hospital-Mangaluru to the people in Mangaluru and nearby areas, could also be provided to the people in the rural areas of Thumbay and its vicinity by FMH-Thumbay.

While this initiation of Pre Entry Level Accreditation Program is getting started, we should be all aware that when you get the NABH accreditation, your responsibility to the stake holders will increase quite considerably and you will make a concerted effort to keep up this achievement by striving to do your best. Father Muller Charitable Institution with a history of nearly 140 years having the motto ‘Heal and Comfort’, from the inception days of only service oriented set up, has gradually transitioned into the academic field. We are indeed happy to face the new challenges and in our efforts to improve the facility in this institution, we are looking forward to continuous support and constant constructive criticism from every nook and corner”.
Bishop Saldanha handed over certificates to all those who excelled well in the NABH training exam. Dr Kiran Shetty – Medical Superintendent of FMH-Thumbay proposed vote of thanks. Long Live Father Muller Charitable Institutions!
