Innocent students should be released – CFI

Mangaluru: The Campus Front of India (CFI), held a press meet at Hotel Woodlands and demanded to release the innocent students who have been arrested by the Mangaluru Rural police, here on September 10.

Addressing the mediapersons the State president of CFI Mohammed Thuffail said, “From the past three years the students of Srinivas College are trying to stop the harassment by the College authorities who penalise the students for silly reasons without giving a receipt for the amount collected, charge excess fees, donations for seat and headscarf issues. In spite of a number of protests by the students, the college administration did not take any corrective measures. Finally, when CFI members intervened and discussed the issue with the college management they agreed to stop penalising the students and other issues.”

Thuffail further said, “In the B Pharma department, some first-year students complained with the Principal that 23 final year B Pharma students were ragging them. The Principal Dr A R Shabaraya filed a complaint in the Mangaluru rural police station against all the 23 students on September 3”.

Thuffail further said, “According to the students, all of them in the college are in good terms, there are no misunderstanding or discrimination among them. Recently the College authorities restricted Muslim girl students from wearing the headscarf and also penalised many students for silly reasons. The CFI protested against the restrictions on wearing the headscarf and collecting penalty from the students. After the protest, the principal called the students who participated in the protest and threatened them of consequences. The principal and the lecturers also threatened the students of withholding the results, and warned Hindu students against speaking to Muslim students”.

“The principal called 9 students (4 girls and 5 boys) to his chamber and forced them to file a complaint against 23 students from the final year B Pharma. When the students refused to file a false complaint, the principal threatened them of withholding their results and suspension. Bowing to the threats of the principal the students agreed to file a complaint against the 23 students. Based on the complaint by the Principal the police arrested three students who are from Kannur, Kerala. When the students were arrested, we thought of giving a memorandum to the Mangaluru Rural police station to release them since they are innocent and the students who had filed a false complaint on pressure were ready to withdraw the case. When we were going to the police station they did not give us a chance to even enter the gate. Instead, they lathi charged us”, said Thuffail

“The campus front of India demands the Principal and three lecturers to be suspended from the college. The four of them are dividing the students on religious grounds and creating misunderstanding among them. In the coming days if the situation worsens, and the students protest, the principal of Srinivas college should be directly held responsible. The students who have been arrested should be released”, said Thuffail.

CFI members Imran, Mohammed Riyaz and Mohammed Athaulla were also present.

Campus Front of India!! Yea, right!! Who are they fooling? Why can’t they admit who they really are? Who will fall for this ‘taqiyya’ trick? Look at their priorities – Demanding more gender segregation and making women hide their face destroying any sense of identity and self-confidence!! Do they even believe in modern education? Or, waiting for an opportunity to demand some special courses in medieval fantasies? If these guys are truly the ‘Campus Front of India’, only an imaginary god can save India!!!!

They should lower their gaze and should not stare. It is further mentioned in Rig Veda Book no. 10 Hymn no. 85 V. no.30 Unlovely… Read more »

Very interesting to see the justification of women hiding themselves in black bags. Where in Quran it asks women to hide in black bags? Can someone please provide clear references to justify the dress code? smiles…
