Insurance company asked to pay Rs 1.15 crore compensation to Moodubelle Accident Victim’s Fly
Udupi: An insurance company has been directed by the court to pay a compensation of about Rs 1.15 crore to the family of the victim who died in a road accident in the year 2016.
The district senior civil judge ordered the Insurance Company to pay Rs 1.15 Crore to the family of the deceased Johnson Michael D’Souza of Moodubelle.
On August 2, 2016, Johnson was on his way to Belle from his house on his Bike. A tipper coming from the opposite direction hit his bike. Johnson who was seriously injured was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. A case seeking compensation was filed in this regard in the Udupi court.
The court has ordered the insurance company to pay Rs 1,15,96,800 and additional interest of 6.1% on the amount and also other expenses. Advocate Alevoor Premaraj Kini had argued the case in favour of the applicant.
