Interdistrict Cattle Thief Wanted in Several cases Arrested in Moodbidri
Mangaluru: The special crime detection squad from North Subdivision arrested an interstate Cattle thief in Moodbidri.
The arrested has been identified as Basheer alias Arga Basheer (42) from Todar Moodbidri.
According to the police, on July 8, after getting reliable information about the accused, the special crime detection squad from North Subdivision raided the spot and arrested the accused in Todar, Moodbidri. The accused Basheer alias Arga Basheer was wanted in many cattle theft and trafficking cases.
The accused is involved in cattle trafficking and illegal slaughtering. Various cases have been registered against him in Chikkamagaluru district, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Virajpete, Venur Police station, Dharmasthala police station, Suratkal police station, Moodbidri and Bajpe police stations.
Recently while Basheer along with his associates transporting cattle illegally in Ujire the vehicle had toppled and all the cattle in it died. Since then Basheer was absconding while his associates were arrested. Basheer had also stolen a cow belonging to Geetha from Krishnapur, Suratkal.
The police on getting reliable information about Basheer’s whereabouts arrested him in Todar and later handed him over to the Dharmasthala police for further investigations.
Under the direction of Police commissioner Sandeep Patil and able guidance of DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh and under the leadership of ACP Srinivas R Gowda the operation was carried out by the Bajpe police inspector Parashiva Murthy, Suratkal police inspector Ramakrishna K G and special crime detection squad from North Subdivision ASI Mohammed, Kushal Maniyani, Satish M, Vijay Kanchan, Isaac, Sharan Kali and the Moodbidri police team.
