Intermittent Rainfall in Coastal Karnataka to Continue for Next Three Days: IMD

Bengaluru: The Indian Meterological Department (IMD) located in Bengaluru has issued an announcement that predicted rainfall in the coastal belt of Karnataka (mainly Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts) for the next three days i.e. from June 7 to June 9.

The rainfall as witnessed by the state’s coastal region will also be accompanied by bouts of thunder and lightning, and wind velocities are also expected to reach 30-40 kilometers per hour.

Several regions of the coast (including the Subrahmanya region) reported rainfall on Wednesday night i.e. June 6. Along with the rest of Karnataka, the coastal belt is facing a 10-year high water scarcity crisis. The IMD has also predicted rainfall in the neighboring state of Kerala within the next 48 hours.
