Introduce uniform civil code and complete ban on cow slaughter – Baba Ramdev
Udupi: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev demanded the union governent to introduce the uniform civil code and complete ban on cow slaughter.
India’s population should not be more than 150 crores in the next 50 years as we are not prepared or ready to bear more than that. This is only possible when the government makes a law. There should be a complete ban on cow slaughter and for those who want to eat meat, there are several other types of meat which they can eat,” he said.
Coming down heavily on the supporters of Periyar, Ramdev said that people should take up nationalism as the weapon against the supporters of Periyar, who claims that Lord Rama and Krishna had massacred the backward class communities, which is far from the truth. The communist ideologies should be attacked, he reiterated.
He stressed on the need to bring stringent laws against cattle slaughter. Indian Muslims should not take Mughals as their role models. The saint said that Muslims are Indians and they are the brothers of Hindus in India. They should also support the ban on cow slaughter. He said that there was a ban on cow slaughter during the era of Babar, Humayun and Akbar. He said that beef consumption is the reason for global warming. Patanjali is rearing thousands of cattle. He called the meat consumers to consume any meat, including dog, cat, chicken and mutton, but not beef. If people consume cattle, they will also not hesitate to consume their human parents, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Pejawar Math’s Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji sai that the purification of River Ganga and the ban on cow slaughter should be taken as priority by the central government. He said that the national animal should be cattle and not tiger to stop increasing violence and terror activities in the country. He lamented over the delay in the purification of River Ganga. There is need to introduce uniform civil code and also measures for population control. A seven member panel of judges in SC will come up with apposite decision over the controversy of allowing women into the Sabarimala temple. The people who oppose the entry of women into the Mosque are supporting the idea of throwing open the doors of Sabarimala temple for women. He said Ram Mandir will be built at the earliest and the country will be Rama Rajya.
