INTUC will Support Congress in MCC Elections – Rakesh Malli
Mangaluru: “Since the MCC elections are nearing there was some confusion during the selection of the candidates. There were aspirants from the INTUC and we had asked for an opportunity to the INTUC members also. We spoke to the KPCC president and he has assured us of giving an opportunity in the next elections. Now all the confusion has been cleared and we are committed to working for the victory of the Congress party in the MCC elections. I urge the people of Mangaluru to vote for the Congress because of the development work it has done and for its commitment for development work”, said the State President of INTUC Rakesh Malli in a press meet held at the DCC office here on November 5.
Addressing the media persons Rakesh Malli said, “INTUC is a very strong organization in the world and we have 3.42 crore members. The Union government had argued that the membership of INTUC was very less. But during the survey, it was proved that INTUC has 3.42 crore members. In the MCC elections, INTUC will support all the Congress candidates and our members will vote for them. INTUC works for the welfare of the labour class, we have also demanded MRPL to appoint locals. Those who have lost their land should also get jobs in MRPL”.
Rakesh Malli further said, “We have demanded the government to repair all the roads in our district. All those who work as drivers should get the ESI facilities. The Congress party candidates should win the MCC elections since the people of DK have benefitted from the Congress party. In the coming MCC elections, Malli requested the people of Mangaluru to vote for the Congress party and bring it to power in the MCC”.
Advocate Dinaker Shetty speaking to the mediapersons said, “The union government is implementing anti-labourer policies. INTUC has demanded the government to adopt policies benefitting the labourers, but the union government is not interested in helping the poor. The union government is helping the corporate world. The Congress party has selected 60 candidates for the MCC elections. We request the people of Mangaluru to vote for Congress candidates”.
Secretary D K Suresh, Abubaker, Kavitha Sanil, Vinod Shetty, Bondal Chittaranjan Shetty and others were also present.
