London, July 12 (IANS) Singer Ellie Goulding has fueled rumours that she’ll be recording the theme song for the next “James Bond” movie, “Spectre”.

The British singer hinted at her involvement in the film when she took to micro-blogging website Twitter to post a “James Bond” related tweet, reports aceshowbiz.com.

“Live and let die,” she wrote, referring to the 1973 “Bond” film starring Roger Moore.

The movie featured a theme song performed by Paul McCartney with his band Wings.

Goulding’s tweet came just days after fellow British singer Sam Smith denied he’d been offered to sing the “Spectre” theme despite being a strong contender.

“People seem to think I’m doing it but I have no idea what’s going on. I’m being deadly serious. I think I would know by now,” he said in an interview last week.

He went on revealing that Goulding might have been approached for the job. “I heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it, it’s definitely not me,” he added.

Marking the 24th “James Bond” film, “Spectre” will see Daniel Craig reprising his role as agent 007.

Sam Mendes is back as director. It is scheduled for release later this year.
